A Month of Impact: Muslim Civic Engagement During Ramadan

Chicago, IL – March 27, 2026 – This past month marked a powerful convergence, the holy month of Ramadan and the IL Primary Elections arriving together. The Muslim Civic Coalition took action, mobilizing across Chicagoland to deliver voter education resources and information directly to Muslim communities. As community members gathered at masajid and community centers to observe their ibadah, the Coalition stood alongside them, committed to ensuring every voice was heard at the ballot box. The team worked tirelessly across over 40 events, from jummahs to Iftars, bringing Get Out The Vote efforts to the heart of the community.

The impact of this work reflects the power of an engaged and civically active Muslim community. Attending over 40 events in a single month is a testament to the dedication of the Coalition's staff and volunteers and the trust the community places in the Muslim Civic Coalition. The organization extends its deepest gratitude to every masjid, community center, and individual who opened their doors and welcomed these efforts. This Ramadan served as a reminder that civic engagement is an extension of shared values, and the Muslim Civic Coalition remains committed to ensuring that the Muslim community in Chicagoland has a seat at the table, every election season and beyond.

If you would like to partner with the Muslim Civic Coalition for sponsorships, civic engagement and voter workshops, tabling at your event or masajid, please reach out to info@muslimciviccoalition.org
