Protect Your Power: Why Illinois Muslim Votes are Needed This Election Cycle

Illinois (Oct. 20, 2026) — American Muslims have made historic gains in politics and civic engagement over the past decade. But this year, we’re seeing new levels of anti-Muslim hate normalized by politicians and codified in the halls of power ahead of Election Day. Why?

Because of the power we hold as people who vote, organize, and support what is right, just, and fair.

Here’s what’s at stake and why you should use your power this election cycle:

01

Our faith calls us to be engaged citizens, to support the oppressed, and to uphold justice.

Voting is a critical way to do just that.

02

Anti-Muslim hate is being normalized by politicians and codified in the halls of power.

We can’t protect our rights if we don’t exercise our rights.

03

Palestine and free speech are on the ballot (in 8 Illinois communities).

Send a strong message and a certified result on repealing Illinois’ anti-BDS law that our state has to answer to.

04

Your vote can impact grocery, gas, and housing prices; immigration enforcement; foreign policy; civil rights; schools and education; community safety; local businesses; policing; and more.

Have a say in what happens. Use your power.

05

American Muslims are increasingly recognized as a decisive factor this election cycle.

With an estimated 400,000+ Illinois Muslim community members, when we show up – we make a difference.

06

The elections this year will determine what comes next for our country and for our communities. Don’t let others decide for you.

Show our elected officials that we’re here, we matter, and we refuse to stay on the sidelines.

Protect your power by voting early or on Nov. 3. Find resources at muslimciviccoalition.org/voterhub.
