Mohammad Atiya serves as Fellowship Lead and Civic Justice Organizer for the Muslim Civic Coalition.
Mohammad leads the Coalition's Young Adults Civic Impact Fellowship, a program preparing the next generation of Muslim American civic leaders. During the pilot year, he served as both a Fellow and Co-Lead, learning alongside the cohort while guiding it, and went on to help develop the program into its current form. His work centers on curriculum design, facilitation, and creating civic education materials that reach young Muslim Americans in Chicagoland and across the country. Through the Fellowship, he equips young adults to run for office, lead in their communities, and carry out capstone projects that turn what they learn into real civic impact.
An aspiring attorney, Mohammad is a pre-law student at DePaul University, where he studies political science. On campus, he serves as President of the Pre-Law Club, President and Secretary General of DePaul Model United Nations, Vice President and Senior Managing Editor of the DePaul Undergraduate Law Review, and a representative in the Student Government Association.
Driven by a belief that civic power begins with civic knowledge, Mohammad is committed to ensuring emerging community leaders have the tools, confidence, and relationships to lead.
