America turns 250 this summer. We mark it by honoring the legacies that carried us here
A weekend that will inspire, equip, and connect you.
Deadline to apply: Friday, Aug. 7
Champion Civic Justice
Muhammad Ali is one of the most recognized Americans in history — and one of the most consequential Muslims in ours. He claimed his name, embraced his faith, and refused a war his conscience could not accept, paying for that stand with his title and nearly his career. He showed a generation that faith and citizenship go hand in hand.
At the Muslim Civic Coalition, that conviction guides our work. We honor Ali not as a monument but as a mandate — to bring our whole selves, faith included, into the fight for a more just democracy.
Join us for our 2nd Annual Legacy Trip: two days on the road together, from Chicago to Louisville.
Traveling alongside us are Imam Dr. Tariq El-Amin and the leadership of Masjid al-Taqwa — Black Muslim leaders who will guide our reflection and facilitation across the miles, on the bus, and on the ground. Journey to honor our history, as our delegation from Illinois pays our respects and honors the legacy of Muhammad Ali, a proud Black Muslim whose courage is part of our American story.
What's in store
Reflection and facilitation led by Imam Dr. Tariq El-Amin and Masjid al-Taqwa leadership — throughout the ride and in Louisville
A visit to the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville

What you'll carry home

A framework for courage, conviction, and leadership to shape what comes next
Why this journey, now
This summer, the nation marks 250 years. We mark it by listening, learning, and honoring the legacies — like Ali's — that carried us here. Guided by our faith and strengthened by our solidarity, we don't just remember history. We take our place in it.
