Justice in the Time of Pandemic: Are the Incarcerated Being Protected From Covid-19?

Severely overpopulated, jails and prisons in the current conditions have become the hotbeds for the coronavirus pandemic. We need immediate action to control the spread of the virus and provide healthcare to inmates. Join us to hear from The Innocence Project on how to protect our prison population from the coronavirus and how to control the spread of the virus.

Seema Saifee represents individuals seeking access to post-conviction DNA evidence in state and federal courts nationwide and challenges wrongful convictions based on federal constitutional violations and newly discovered evidence. She also directs the Innocence Project Clinic at Cardozo Law School where she supervises law students and teaches courses on legal writing, post-conviction constitutional litigation, and Guantánamo habeas litigation.

Adnan Sultan is a staff attorney at the Innocence Project. He litigates post-conviction cases nationwide on behalf of individuals seeking access to DNA testing and relief from wrongful convictions. He also instructs law students as part of the Innocence Project clinic at Cardozo.
